Portugal is famous for producing amazing wine at relatively modest prices. This is true throughout Portugal including in the Algarve, where wine production is on the increase again, particularly from smaller “boutique” wineries. A visit to a winery is wonderful way to get a better understanding of the different methods of wine production and the hard work that goes into cultivating and maintaining the vines. Of course, no visit would be complete without also a tasting.
Quinta da Tôr
Quinta da Tor is a lovely winery just 5 km from Casa da Rosa. It has some excellent award winning wines, particularly the red wines that are full bodied and powerful. We would thoroughly recommend a visit during your stay when you can enjoy a guided tour, followed by a tasting on the terrace overlooking the vines accompanied by some lovely tapas. There is even a swimming pool to cool off during the summer months.
